Precise and Robust: The Tracking System
In the focusing system from Concentrix Solar, a two-axis tracking system is implemented for sun tracking. This system ensures that the focus point of the concentrated sunlight is directly on the cells at every moment in the day.
The tracking system used by Concentrix Solar is a further development on the tracking system for silicon solar cell modules which has already been used successfully in the practice for many years. The system was optimized and fitted to suit the special conditions of concentrator photovoltaics (very high tracking accuracy).
The tracking system follows the sun with a very precise tracking accuracy of 0.1°. At the same time it is also very robust. Even at high wind speeds of up to 11m/s, the modules track the sun exactly without incurring losses.
